EBS AllerDot

Allergies can occur to anyone, anytime and can affect our daily activities and reduce our quality of lives. It is caused by abnormal over reaction of your body’s immune system to something that usually does not trigger a reaction in most people. Normally harmless, allergens can trigger mild to life-threatening symptoms in people with sensitivities when inhaled or ingested. On the other hand, food intolerance may relate symptoms of many chronic disorders.

The EBS AllerDot is a blood test used to diagnose allergies to specific substances for a person who presents with acute or chronic allergy-like symptoms. It is based on FLISA (Fluorescence-Linked Immuno-Sorbent Assay) and microarray technology that can test 224 allergens / food intolerance simultaneously with fluorescent-linked anti IgE / IgG antibodies. Different IgE antibodies detect different allergens, and the IgE antibody test is used to screen for an allergy to a specific allergen by measuring the amount of that suspected IgE antibody in the blood.

Who should have an Allergy Test?

Allergy reactions can be mild or severe, varies on different exposures, may or may not get worse over time. symptoms are rash, eczema, running nose, astma, otitis, swelling, difficulty to breathe, vomit, low blood pressure and so on.

This minimally invasive procedure does not require a full blood draw. Only 5ml blood is required. Results will be obtained in a week for Ig E 66 and Ig G 101 specific screening test.  However for 224 Ig E/ Ig G specific screening test, it will takes 3-4 weeks.
